The Coldean Youth Project
Are you 9-13 years old and live and/or socialise in Coldean?
If you can answer yes to both of these questions then the Coldean Youth Project is for you!
The project has been setup by local volunteers in early 2007 to provide ongoing activities for the local youth as well as a safe place for youth to meet their friends and make new ones. We believe that every neighbourhood should have a youth club and Coldean is no different.
Children in this age group are all welcome to attend our weekly sessions which are currently held in the church hall during term times on Thursdays 18:00-19:30.
The club offers wide range of activities from arts and crafts through cooking and team building games to outdoor activities such as trips to the woods and visits to venues such as the Laser Hub in Crawly or the Triangle swimming centre in Burgess Hill.
In the near future we intend to extend the youth project to the older age group of 13-16. We were given permission to turn the old Doctor Surgery in Beatty Avenue into a permanent youth club and were also awarded a grant towards the renovation, so older youth, watch this space! You will soon be called upon to help with the redecoration and will have the opportunity to take part in creating the first ever open youth club in Coldean. This club is for you and will be open for youth to meet and socialise as well take part in other activities.
Parents and/or local residents, we ask for your support. If you feel that you want to contribute to this local, non-for-profit, volunteer run and led project then please get in touch we are happy to discuss any ideas you may have and of course, if you’d like to take part then we are always looking for new volunteers.
